Maharashtra, August, 25, 2006

The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) is a newly started not-for-profit venture at Hyderabad, India with the mission of finding solutions to improve human health through the application of cutting edge research in integrated disciplines of life sciences.

Formed through the partnership of private industry, Andhra Pradesh State Government and University of Hyderabad, the institute will operate as an autonomous body and will pursue research in relevant areas of chemical and biological sciences in order to understand the molecular mechanisms behind chosen diseases and translate this understanding into approaches for discovering novel therapies.

ILS is engaged in setting up a state-of-the-art center within the campus of University of Hyderabad. Research activities will commence during October-December 2006 in its equipped labs. More details about ILS are available at www.ilsresearch.org

ILS is now looking for bright PhDs and M.Scs, as Post Doctoral Research Fellows and Research Trainees in various disciplines of Life Sciences including Organic Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry. We are seeking highly motivated candidates, with little or no experience willing to move into new research disciplines.

ILS provides a vibrant, interactive research and intellectually stimulating environment. For each of these positions, the Fellowship/Stipend offered will be significantly higher than National Laboratories in the country. These Fellowships and Traineeships provide opportunities to develop research project skills and collaborative links with outstanding researchers within the institute and elsewhere, particularly in Biotech/Pharma industries. These positions are offered on a 2 -year fixed term basis, extendable for a further 1-year term.

For prompt consideration, interested candidates may send applications with a cover letter and curriculum vitae, including the names/ phone numbers of two people who could provide letters of reference, to Ms.Deepa K M by e-mail at careers© ilsresearch.org
