PACET scrapped

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman KC Reddy said that Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) would conduct the EAMCET test on May 4, 2007. He said that the Government is thinking of introducing negative marking in the EAMCET from next year onwards. He added a committee has been formed to study the probability of introducing negative marking in the EAMCET. He disclosed the dates of all common entrance tests (CETs) to be held for the academic year 2007-08 on Monday.
According to him, the schedule for CETs are that JNTU will conduct EAMCET-2007 on May 4, ECET (for diploma holders) on May 17, Osmania University will conduct ICET-2007 on May 12, Nagarjuna University will conduct LAWCET-2007 on May 27. The Planning and Architecture Common Entrance Test (PACET) for admission to architecture colleges in the State will be scrapped. He said that the Council of Architecture, New Delhi made it mandatory for the candidates to qualify in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) to get eligibility for admission to the five-year course in all aided and unaided colleges across the country and notifications for all the tests would be issued in the next month.
