Post-Inter five year course to be introduced

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) on Tuesday decided to introduce the five year course after Intermediate in State Universities from the forthcoming academic year. It combines the three year graduation and two year post graduation courses.
The Council resolved to bring all State Universities under a uniform Act, set up 21st Century Gurukul, a joint initiative with Carnegie Melon University to train rural students to write competitive examinations in six locations. The student can decide to opt either for three year degree or five year both degree and post graduate course.
The Union Grants Commission (UGC) had approved for the course. The council has selected Visakhapatnam, Rangapuram, Tirumala, Warangal, Srisailam, Kakinada and Anatapur.
