Geography of Travel and Tourism

1. Travel : History of Travel purpose of travel in ancient and modern times, concepts of tourism, leisure and holiday travel.

2. Tourism Growth and Development: Industrial Revolution and Travel, world wars and tourism, economic development and tourism.

3. Tourism and its impact: Cultural Tourism and its impact - Business tourism and its impact - agro farm and its impacts - short and long visits of tourist and impact on infrastructural development.

4. Tourism Planning : Tourism as a trade and industry - tourism, media and communication facilities - tourism institutions - services and infra structural facilities.

5. Tourism in India : Wild life sanctuary and natural resources - heritage centres - cultural and historical sites.
