Unit II :
Bacterial plasmids: structure and properties, replication, incompatibility, plasmid amplification. Bacteriophages: lytic development cycle - T4 ; lytic and lysogenic development of phage ? structure of bacterial transposons, types of bacterial transposons. Mechanism of antibiotic resistance and spread of antibiotic resistance.
