Semester VI - Application Oriented Subject II - Test Measurements Evaluation and Elementary Stastistics

Duration of Examination: 3 hrs
Maximum Marks: 100
Credits: 4

Unit I

a. Introduction:

i. Meaning of Test, Measurement, and Evaluation. Need and importance of Test,

ii. Measurement and Evaluation in Physical Education.

b. Test Evaluation:

Scientific Authenticity, Reliability, Objectivity, Validity and Norms.

Unit II

Classification, Meaning and purpose of classification indices, AAHPER Youth Physical Fitness Test, Health Related Fitness Test, ICR Test.

Unit III

Measurement of Cardio-respiratory functions. Coopers 12 Minutes continuous Run/Walk test-Tuttle Pulse- Ratio test, Harvard Step Test, Wingate Anerobic Test.

Unit IV

Sports skill Tests:

i. Lock Hart and Mc.Pharson Badminton Test.

ii. Johnson Basketball ability test.

iii. Mc. Donald Soccer Test.

iv. Brady Volleyball Test.

v. Friedle Hockey Test.

vi. Broer Miller Tennis Test.

Unit V

i. Statistics Meaning, Definition, Functions, Need and importance, uses, Types of Statistics. Meaning of the terms - population, sample, Data-kinds of data, Variables - Discrete, continuous, parametric, Non-parametric.

ii. Measures of Central Tendency, Mean, Median Mode, Variance and Standard deviation.
