1. Weather and Climate - Definition of Climatology - Climatic elements - composition and structure of the atmosphere-insolation - Heat balance - Green house effect -Distribution of temperature

2. Atmospheric pressure - Distribution - vertical & horizontal - general circulation of the atmosphere - wind - types.

3. Moisture - forms of precipitation - types of rainfall - distribution - seasonal and spatial - cloud & its classification.

4. Airmasses & fronts - concepts - classification and properties - atmosphric disturbances - tropical and temporate cyclones.

5. Weather forecasting - definition - instruments- early weather charts - basis for weather forecasting - benefits of weather forecasting.
