PAPER VI - ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

1. Enterprise and the entrepreneur: set up of the enterprise-type of organisation - Reasons to start enterprise-factors: Favourable to set up enterprises-discouraging factors-the entrepreneur: definition, functions of the entrepreneur-contributory factors to entrepreneurship-motivational factors.

2. Marketing survey and product selection: market survey-product awareness-identification of product-production technology: choice of technology-labour intensive,capiral intensive inter mediate technology-lab our production technology-techno-economic feasibility.

3. Interface with small scale industrial agencies: whom to approach to what-assistance to ssi-ssi registration-licensing-municipal bye-lawsavailability of sub sidees-inclusive of backward areas.

4. Management of business enterprise: plant machinary-capacity utilisation - raw materials-labour issues-book keeping - maintanence of records-finance-break even analysis-capital budgeting techniques-working capital, cost concepts pricing of the products.

5. Marketing: marketing techniques-channels of distribution-sales management-advertisement-packing-quality control-bis testing of the product-staminisation, dilution controls-interface with govt. agencies: sales tax-income tax-excise duties-import & export duties-ncentives for exports-foreign exchange regulations
