1. Distinguish between effectiveness and efficiency. Discuss the factors, which make an effective manager.
2. What do you mean by strategy? Discuss the process of strategy formulation.
3. Explain plant location and plant layout concepts with suitable illustrations.
4. What are the different methods of training?
5. What are the merits and demerits of centralized and decentralized buying? For what type of situation and kinds of materials would you prefer centralization of decentralization of buying?
6. Write short notes on:
a) Branding b) Standardization c) sales promotion.
7. A critical path activity is given below. The activity times are given besides each activity.

a) Draw the network for normal cost and find critical path time, and cost of the project.
b) Crash the critical path and compute the cost of the project.
