1. What are the essential characteristics of management? Is Management Science an exact one as in the case of Physics, Chemistry etc? Explain.

2. What is mission? What are the determinants of mission?

3. Discuss the main techniques of statistical quality control.

4. What is job evaluation? What are its advantages?

5. a) Discuss the procedure usually adopted for the receipt and issue of items in a stores.
b) Discuss the various types of records and registers to be maintained in stores.

6. What is 'Consumer orientation'? Explain the important stages of developing suitable marketing process for:
i) manufactured products and ii) services.

7. A project consisting of 12 distinct activities is to be analysed by using PERT. Draw the PERT network. Indicate the expected total slack for each activity and hence indicate the average critical path. With in how many days would you expect the project to be completed with 99% chances?
