Test Papers of Andhra University SDE MBA (DM) - AMDM - 311 - International Finance - 2004

Third Year

Time : Three hours

Maximum : 75 marks

1. Section A consists of TEN short answer question. The candidate has to answer FIVE questions. The answer shall not exceed 1 page each.
2. Section B consists of FIVE questions. Each question consists of either or choices and the candidate has to answer either (a) or (b) from each question. The answer shall not exceed 5 pages each.

SECTION A - (5 x 3 = 15 marks)

1. Answer any FIVE of the following in brief.

(a) International financial flows.
(b) Capital convertibility.
(c) Trade surplus in balance of payment.
(d) Foreign Exchange Reserve maintained by RBI.
(e) Stabilisation of exchange rates
(f) Functioning of forex market.
(g) Hedging of account receivables.
(h) Economic exposure.
(i) Letter of credit.
(j) Motives of holding cash in foreign currency.

SECTION B - (5 x 12 = 60 marks)

2. (a) How do the economic dimensions of a country influence on international finance?

Or

(b) What are the components of balance of payment? How they influence on forex reserves?

3. (a) Explain the role of international financial institutions on international financing.

Or

(b) How do the foreign exchange rates determined? Explain.

4. (a) Identify the various sources of finance for foreign trade.

Or

(b) Write financial implications in holding inventory in different countries.

5. (a) How do you manage operating exposure to minimize the foreign exchange risk?

Or

(b) What are the various forex regulations to be followed in India for foreign trade?

6. (a) Explain various international investment strategies.

Or

(b) How do you forecast the foreign exchange requirements for international business?
