Maximum : 75 marks
1. Section A consists of Eight short answer questions. The candidate has to answer FOUR questions.SECTION A - (4 x 3 12 marks)
Write briefly on any FOUR of the following:
(a) What is Eustress?SECTION B — (4 x 12 48 marks)
2. (a) Explain dynamics of group behaviour during various phases of group development.
Or
(b) "Interpersonal trust is the core of group dynamics". Explain how it influences the group dynamics.
3. (a) identify individual and situational moderation of role efficiency.
Or
(b) Examine various organisational strategies of stress.
4. (a) "Politicking in organisations is disastrous, it is inculcated". Explain your answer with reasons such behaviour.
Or
(b) Examine the factors indicating favourable adverse organisational climate. Give suitable example.
5. (a) How are organisational values and ethics inter-related? Explain.
Or
(b) What are the core concepts of management of diversity? Explain organisational dynamic strategies.
SECTION C - (15 marks)
Case study:
6. Mr. Sukumar joined a private sector enterprise 10 years ago. He was sincere, hardworking and straight forward. His ambition is to climb up into top position. So he showed his metal and the management also wanted to use his energy for their benefit. He worked about 12 hours a day all through the month with no holiday concept. His colleagues also had appreciation for his work.
Recognising his work, the management considered him for promotions till the level of functional manager. After 2 years of his work as manager, the General Manager post became vacant Mr. Sukumar also applied for the post along with others. A routine procedure, the management referred to medical examination of all the candidates. All the applicants are below 40 years of age.
The Management took serious note of Mr. Sukumar's medical report. The report revealed that Mr. Sukumar over worked and his work load needs to be reduced, otherwise his medical tests showed that the chances of heart trouble is greater if he continues to overwork.
The Chairman and Managing Director had tough time to decide. The questions in his mind are:
(a) What will be the consequence if Mr. Sukumar is considered for the promotion or otherwise.He did not reveal the medical condition to Mr. Sukumar. But wanted to hold stress management program.
Assume yourself in the roles of Mr. Sukumar and Chairman and M.D. how do you thing you might handle the situation.
