1.1 Explain the following concepts with suitable examples :
(i) Basic, Compound and Complex subjects
(ii) Enumerative and Faceted Classification Systems

I.2 What are the different ways in which documents can be arranged in a library ? Which will be the best way suited for an academic library ? Justify your answer.

2.1 Discuss the importance of study of universe of subjects in library classification and explain the different modes of formation of subjects.

2.2 What is meant by 'mnemonics' ? Discuss the different types of mnemonics found in Colon Classification Scheme.

3.1 Discuss the different devices employed in Colon Classification System with the help of suitable examples.

4.1 Discuss the role of societies and research groups in the development of library classification.
