1. (a) List and explain the five windows that are displayed by Visual Basic when it gets started. (10)

(b) Write an event procedure that accepts two strings m and n as input. The procedure should print whether m is a substring of n or not. Don't use any library function for finding whether one string is substring of other. (10)

(c) What is a Control Array ? Explain the two ways of creating the Control Array.
Note : Write all the steps involved in both the ways. (10)

2. (a) Write the steps to be followed to add any object from the tool box to any application. (3)

(b) Explain different file controls add also mention their use on the form. (6)

(c) Explain the following terms used in OLE : (6)
(i) Source Application
(ii) Linked object
(iii) Container Application

3. (a) Explain the procedure of creating a database using Visual Basic with the help of an example. (10)

(b) Explain at least five features of Integrated Development Environment (IDE) of Visual Basic. (5)

4. (a) Mention different suffix characters used to specify variables of a data type. Explain, how they are useful in VB programming. (8)

(b) Write an event procedure to count the number of positive numbers, negative numbers and zeroes in a given list of 10 numbers that are given as input. Also, design the layout for an interactive front end with appropriate controls. (7)

5. (a) Write an event procedure to automate the billing system of a supermarket. Give the details of database tables, forms, controls and menu design (if any). Make assumptions, wherever necessary. (7)

(b) Write an event procedure to find the sum of the squares of "n" natural numbers. Design proper layout for front-end interface. (8)
