1.(a) Explain the important features of Integrated Development Environment (lDE) of Visual Basic. (10)

( b ) What is a variable ? mention the rules of naminga variable in VB. Also list the types of variables along with their special characters. (10)

(c) Write an event procedure in VB to reverse a given 5 digit number and also find the sum of the digits. Draw the layout of user interface.(10)

2.(a) For each of the category of the functions given below, give at least 2 functiors, their purpose and an example for each :
(i) Numeric functions
(ii) String functions

(b) Write a step-by-step procedure to design a menu similar to that of the Wordpad using menu-editor. Draw the layout for the user interface also.(7)

3.(a) What is the significance of a form in VB ? How do we create a form and save it ? List and explain any 5 important properties of the forrn. (8)

(b) Write an event procedure to find whether a given substring is available in the main string or not. Draw the layout of the user interface also. (7)

4.(a) Define an event. List any seven events and their basic functionality/description. (8)

(b) Write an event procedure to calculate the gross-pay, net-pay if Basic,DA,TA, DPA, CCA, perks and deductions like LIC, GPF, loans etc. are given. Draw the layout of the user interface also. (7)
