MPS-002: INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS - THEORY AND PROBLEMS

Maximum Marks: 100

SECTION I

Answer any four of the following questions in a maximum of 600 words each. Each question carries 20 marks.

(4x20=80)

1. Discuss Realism as a school of thought in the study of international Relations (IR) highlighting its key concepts.

2. What do you mean by Neo-Liberal Institutionalism ? Examine its core assumptions.

3. What is the feminist approach to the study of International Relations ? Discuss.

4. Write an essay on Sustainable Development.

5. Write an essay on post-Soviet state formation in Central Asia.

6. Critically examine the post-Second World War strategies to promote nuclear non-proliferation.

SECTION II

7. Write short notes on any two of the following in a maximum of 300 words each. Each carries 5 marks. (2x5=10)
(i) Neo-functionalism
(ii) Mercantilism
(iii) China as an Emerging Power
(iv) Principle of self-determination

SECTION III

8. Answer the following in a maximum of 500 words. (10)
Campaign for an effective role of NGOs in IR
OR
Human Rights as an agenda in Contemporary International Relations.
