9. Uses of condenser
10. Vital stains
11. Carnoy's fluid
12. Micrometry

Answer any 5 questions

All questions carry equal marks Each answer should not exceed 200 words

13. State the advantages and limitations of electron microscopy

14. Describe the structure and function of a rotary microtome.

15. What do you mean by fixation? Give two examples

16. What is embedding? How is it carried out?

17. Explain the whole mount preparation of algae

18. Describe Feulgen's reaction and Feulgen stain

19. Explain the procedure to stain bacteria.

Section - C (4 x 10 = 40 Marks)

Answer any 4 Questions:

All questions carry equal marks each answer should not exceed 500 words:

20. Trace the pathway of light in a light microscope

21. Write in detail about preparation of section by praffin method

22. Give a detailed procedure for sectioning and staining of an angiosperm method by using microtome

23. Describe the procedure and chemicals used for maceration

24. Write the various types of ocular and objective lenses and add a note on its uses

25. Discuss the merits and demerits of various microtomes studied by you.
