National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are premier Technical Institutions of National repute with Deemed University status. NITs are fully funded by Govt. of India. Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course is one of the most sought after courses offered in the NITs and has a high job potential in the Software houses in India and abroad.

The NIMCET is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by NITs for admission to the MCA course offered by NITs. The first common admission test NIMCET-05 was conducted in 2005. About 13,000 candidates appeared for NIMCET-05 for 420 seats available in NITs. The admission to MCA programme for the year 2006 -07 in all the NITs will be based on the rank obtained in NIMCET-06 ONLY.
