Eligibility Criteria / Entry Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (minimum 10+2+3 scheme), or equivalent qualification recognized by the A.I.U. / Ministry of HRD, with at least 50 % marks in aggregate (45 % for SC / ST candidates). Candidates completing their final examinations can also apply, and if selected can join the programme provisionally.

Mode of Admission

Admission to the programme will be based on the candidate’s performance in CAT, his/her previous academic record and / or work experience, Group Discussions and Personal Interviews

Reservations and Seat Distribution

The Institute observes statutory reservation in respect of SC, ST and physically handicapped persons at all its centres in India. Preference will be given to (a) children of Defence personnel who have lost their lives or been disabled in service (b) sportspersons who have represented their states at National level. Some seats may be reserved for (a) girl candidates (b) candidates obtaining first degree from BIT in year of admission desired (c) at Extension Centres for candidates who are children of Institute employees and who have otherwise qualified for admissions At Mesra, 50% of seats are reserved for candidates who have graduated from Jharkhand, including 8 SC, 7 ST, and 1 OBC seats. The remaining 50% seats will be distributed equitably, as far as possible, among the other States. The domicile of a candidate shall be determined on the basis of the state from which he/she has graduated.
