Eligibility Criteria / Entry Requirements

The candidates for admission to Masters Programme (M.V.Sc.) must have bachelors degree in veterinary science as specified in schedule 1 of the V.C.I. Act (i.e. B.V.Sc. or B.V.Sc. and A.H.) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (55% for SC/ST or sponsored candidates).The candidates must have completed his/her degree programme including internship upto 31st August of the year.

Mode of Admission

All the seats of Masters level are to be filled on the basis of combined examination for admissions and award of ICAR Junior Research Fellowships conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.

Reservations

Fifteen percent seats for scheduled caste, 7.5% seats for scheduled tribe and 3% for physically handicapped candidates will be treated as reserved subject to their being otherwise eligible. The reservation of seats stated above is interchangeable amongst the SC/ST candidates depending upon the availability of such candidates. This reservation is applicable only in case of candidates who take the entrance examination. As far as reserved category is concerned, it will be followed as was adopted last year.

Age Limit

Minimum age limit for M.V.Sc./Ph.D. candidates shall be 20 and 22 years, respectively. Normally there will be no upper age limit. The age shall be reckoned as on 1st September of the academic session.
