Intermediate marks to add weightage in EAMCET

The Minister for Higher Education P Venkateswara Rao after inaugurating the Andhra University PG Centre buildings said that the move for changes in EAMCET was aimed at giving weightage to Intermediate marks by 25 percent in EAMCET. Students who would join Intermediate in the academic year 2007 would benefit from the changes.
He said the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy would inaugurate a scheme on November 1, 2006 which would equip students with poor economic and rural background to face competitive examinations. He said that the Government was striving for a tie-up with banks to finance rural students with poor economic background to enable them to pursue higher studies.
