Chief Minister delivers convocation address

Delivering the 38th convocation address of Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), he asked to give more thrust in its research programmes for the development of efficient and judicious water management technologies. He expressed happiness that it has established a water technology centre and entered into a MoU with the University of Florida and University of Wageningen on various aspects of water management. Governor Rameshwar Thakur presented undergraduate and post graduate degrees to over 900 candidates.
The Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that the State Government had increased plan and non plan allocation to the University Agricultural Research and education. The plan allocation was doubled last year from Rs.5 crores. The Chief Minister complimented the University for receiving grant from Central Government and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for setting up a quality control laboratory and a mega seed project.
The Vice Chancellor of ANGRAU S. Raghu Vardhan Reddy said that the university’s research stations and colleges implemented a novel programme of adopting fifty villages for interaction with farmers and field visits.
