Vice Chancellor calls for steps for the preservation and propagation of folklore and folk art

Culture, Traditions and Human values are always important to the society. Of the various art forms that help preserve and protect our culture and traditions is folklore. The Sri Venkateswara University observed the World Folklore Day.

Speaking at the program, the Vice Chancellor of the University S Jayarama Reddy said that literature, music, dance and theatre had their roots in folk literature. He asked the researches working on folk and social scientists to come up with some solid steps for the preservation and propagation of folklore and folk art.
