Post-graduate Diploma in Computer Science (PGDCS)(Discontinued for the year 2005)
The Programme has 8 courses (each course is evaluated for 100 marks) with course titles DCS 411 to 426 specially designed to equip the candidates with capability to acquire jobs for which computational skills are necessary. It also helps the employees working in public and private sector organizations and institutions to acquire knowledge of the basics in computer science and skills for better prospects in their career. It may specifically be noted that this programme has been designed as a ‘Computer Science’ Programme, and not merely as a ‘Computer Applications Programme’.
The programme will have the following course structure:
Term1:
DCS 411 : Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science
DCS 412 : Computer Organization
DCS 413 : Introduction to Programming through C/C++
DCS 414 : Business Data Processing
Term 2:
DCS 421 : Systems Software
DCS 422 : Data & File Structure
DCS 423 : Data Base Management System
Elective (any one of the following)
DCS 424 : Computer Graphics
DCS 426 : Pattern Recognition & Image Processing
