About the course
Indian women are often segregated. They are deprived of education, employment and awareness of their rights. This denies women access to a holistic understanding of their needs and expectations from the mainstream life necessities. "Empowering Women through Self-Help Group's" is a Certificate Programme designed to provide systematic communication for women, with the aid of hardware support to deliver information relevant to women's social context. The programme aims at enhancing women's confidence, improving their interpersonal relations/leadership qualities/general management abilities and also helping them to acquire access to credit and resources. Learners who clear the certificate programme from IGNOU will be equipped as a resource person to train other change agents similarly situated in their regions/work sphere and establish their own micro-enterprise. The process will help promote formation and sustainability of SHGs as well.
