About the course

The Programme is being offered in collaboration with All India Radio. It has has been designed to address the growing need for training in audio/radio production by imparting both theoretical and practical skills. The aim of the programme is to prepare students in planning and producing audio programmes and managing radio stations. They will be able to develop skills in production of effective audio programmes. The programme is aimed at the following target groups:

• General students who want to develop skills in audio production to work as radio programmers, presenters and producers and managers;

• Professionals working in Prasar Bharati and private production houses who want to acquire theoretical knowledge of the subject to upgrade their skills;

• Students of Journalism and Mass Communication who want to specialise in audio production and management of radio station;

• Teachers for knowledge-enrichment;

• Institutions and individuals interested in setting up radio stations.

Admission details

Admission notification is generally released in May/June and the last date for submission of filled-in application forms will be September 30 for January session and March 31 for July session. However students are requested to check with the official admission notification for the exact dates related to admissions.

Practical Component

The programme is practical activity based which will be conducted by All India Radio. A total of 12 practicals spread over fifteen working days will be conducted at the programme-centres of AIR, such as Delhi, Jalandhar, Shimla, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Bareilly, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Ranchi, Patna, Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Chennai, Thiruvanathapuram and other stations.
