About the course

Students admitted to the programme are eligible for the award of M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology on successful completion of the course.

The Centre for Biotechnology emphasizes teaching of Physico-Chemical aspects of Biology in the early semesters including Biochemistry & Enzymology, Microbiology & Genetics, Biophysical Chemistry, Cell Biology, Computer Application in the Biotechnology, Chemistry of Biomolecules, Immunology, Molecular Biology & Molecular Genetics & Bioprocess Technology. In the later semesters, specialised courses on Fermentation Technology, Structural Biology & Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology of Eukaryotic System, Genetics Engineering and its Application, Animal Biotechnology, special lectures in Plant Biotechnology and Immunotechnology are offered. In the last two semesters, research project is also offered and graded seminars are conducted.
