NBRC is a premier institute whose objective is to pursue research in the frontier area of Neuroscience to understand brain function in health and disease. Research areas include Developmental Neuroscience, Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience, Computational and Theoretical Neuroscience. Ph.D. in NEUROSCIENCE
Eligibility: Masters degree in any branch of science related to the general area of Neuroscience/Brain Research with consistent good academic record. Candidates from diverse backgrounds that include, but not limited to various disciplines of Biological, Physical, Mathematical, Computer Sciences & Psychology or with M.B.B.S. / B.E./ B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech./ M.Pharma or equivalent with consistent good academic record will be considered.
Candidates awaiting results of the final year examination are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who have already qualified CSIR/UGC/GATE/ICMR examinations are encouraged to apply.
INTEGRATED Ph.D. PROGRAMME in NEUROSCIENCE
NBRC is initiating an integrated Ph.D. Programme in Neuroscience for exceptionally meritorious and motivated students with a goal to provide seamless transition from classroom training to high quality research in challenging areas of neuroscience. On successful completion of the entire programme the students will be given both M.Sc and Ph.D degrees.
Eligibility: Bachelors degree in any branch of science or in any subject related to the general area of Neuroscience including Psychology or M.B.B.S. / B.E. / B.Tech. degree with consistent good academic record.
POST DOCTORAL TRAINING
Eligibility: A Ph.D. degree in any branch of science or in any subject related to the general area of Neuroscience including Psychology.
Applications forms and information brochure are available with the Registrar, NBRC and can be collected in person or obtained through post by sending a demand draft of Rs 50/-(non-refundable) in favour of Director, NBRC payable at Manesar/Gurgaon. Application forms can also be downloaded from the NBRC website (www.nbrc.ac.in). Completed application forms along with photocopies of all qualification/experience certificates, two recent signed passport size photographs and Demand Draft of Rs.500/- [non-refundable( no fees in case of SC / ST candidates) ] in favour of Director, NBRC payable at Manesar/Gurgaon should be sent to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, NH-8, Manesar - 122050, Haryana latest by 27th February, 2006. Incomplete Application forms will not be considered.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for an interview. Train fare for second-class sleeper from the nearest railway station will be paid to the candidates attending the interview, on production of tickets. Selection will be based on performance in the interview. Decision of the screening/selection committee will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
Selected candidates will be eligible for scholarships as per rules and will be provided hostel accommodation.
