Aim:

To prepare the boys academically, physically and mentally for entry into the National Defence Academy and other walks of life.

Age Limits:

For admission to class VI
Born not before 02 Jul 1996 and not after 01 Jul 1997.
For Admission to class IX
Born not before 02 jul 1993 and not after 01 Jul 1994 and studying in class VIII or IX

Curriculum:

10+2 system of the CBSE (New Delhi)

Examination Centres:

Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Sainik School, Kazhakootam and Kavaratti at Lakshadweep (Subject to sufficient number of candidates)

Total Number of Vacancies:

Class VI: 80 (Approximately)
Class IX: 15 (Approximately)
(67% seats are reserved for the boys of Kerala State and remaining seats are open to boys from other states and Union territories)

Admission:

The School does no patronise any coaching institutes/agencies and the admissions will be made strictly in accordance with the Merit in the entrance examination and subsequent medical fitness of candidates.

Categorywise reservation of seats:

25% for sons of Defence and Ex-Defence Personnel. 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST.

Scholarships:

Different types of Scholarships are given by Central/State Governments depending upon the Parents monthly income Details are in the Prospectus.

Prospectus, Application form and Old question papers can be obtained from the Principal, Sainik School, Kazhakootam, Sainik School PO, Trivandrum – 695 585 on a crossed Demand Draft payable of Trivandrum drawn in favour of “Principal, Sainik School, Kazhakootam” / on cash payment as per the following details:-

(i) By Registered Post – Rs. 375/- (DD only)
By Hand – Rs. 325/- (Cash or DD)

(ii) For SC/ST candidates
By Registered Post – Rs. 275/- (DD only)
By Hand – Rs. 225/- (on cash payment or DD)
