Admission Announcement for the XIII Batch of Post Master’s Course in Natural Resource Management (Equivalent to M. Phil) 2007-08

Indian Institute of Forest Management, a premier sectoral Management Institute established in 1982 to cater to the growing needs for managerial human power in allied sector, offers admission for its 13th Batch of Post Master`s Course in Natural Resource Management (M. Phil) Course.

About the Course: One year full-time course, which is first of its kind in Asia having national and international participation. The objective of the course is to enhance the skills of resource managers, practitioners, professionals and others interested in sustainable development of forest natural resources and environment.

Eligibility: A candidate must have at least a two years Master`s Degree or equivalent degree/diploma/recognized by AIU/AICTE) in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Those appearing in the final year of their Post Graduate Examination can also apply, provided they complete the eligibility criteria by June 30th 2007. Candidates having background and working experience in forestry, agriculture, environment, biological and social sciences related field will be given preference. The candidates will have to go through a selection process comprising of Written Test, Presentation and Personal Interview, as decided by the Institute.

Fellowships: Limited fellowships are also available on the basis of candidate’s past academic credentials and performance during the course, as per the rules framed by the Institute.

Reservation: Reservation of seats are available for SC/ST and physically disabled candidates as per Gol rules, provided they meet the minimum eligibility and selection criteria as specified by IIFM.

How to Apply: The candidates can obtain IIFM application form personally or by sending Demand draft of Rs.250/- in favour of The Director IIFM, payable at Bhopal to the Chairperson-Admission. The application form can also be downloaded from the website given below but in such cases the filled- in forms must accompany a Bank Draft of the specified amount. The last date for receipt of application is 15th March 2007.
