Mode of Selection for all Courses

Selection will be based on the entrance examination to be held on 27th and 28th May 2006 at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Kochi, Guwahati, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Medurai, Nagpur, Port, Blair(Andamans), Pondicherry and Visakhapatnam. The entrance examination for admission to MPhil & PhD. Programmes will be common. The Examination at these centres will be held subject to sufficient number of candidates opting for each of them. Entrance examination may not be conducted for the subjects for which sufficient number of applicants are not available.

A programme may not be run in case minimum number of candidate do not report for admission.

Scholarships

Merit Scholarship, Merit cum Means Scholarships (including Hindi and Sanskrit Scholarship) and Fresships are available tot deserving students of PG degree Programmes. For PhD Programmes of the University, scholarships are available in each department for two meritorious candidates. II Class Sleeper train / bus fare will be provided to the candidates called for interview for PhD. Programmes, if the travel distance is beyond 500 Kms. on production of original tickets.

For application Form and Information Brochure, please write to The Deputy, Registrar (Academic II), Pondicherry University, R.V.Nagar, Poundicherry 605 014 along with a crossed DD for Rs. 300/- (Rs. 600 for MCA and MBA programmes in Banking Technology, International Business and Tourism drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Pondicherry University and a self addressed stamped envelope for Rs. 50/- of size 32 cm x 25 cm For SC/ST/Physically challenged candidates DD for Rs. 100/- (Rs. 200/- for MCA and MBA programmes in Banking Technology, International Business and Tourism) should be enclosed towards addressed stamped envelope for Rs. 50/- Use separate application for each programme. The envelope requesting for application may be superscripted Request for Application form for admission. The application form is also available with the Indian Bank at the University Campus on payment of cash for prescribed fee plus Rs. 10/- as service charge.

The application can also be submitted on line through the University Website: www.pondiuni.org. send the hard copy (in A4 size bond sheet) along with the DD for the prescribed fee and the copies of required certificates.
