Eligibility: A pass with 55% of total marks in the related PG Degree if passed after 1991, and 50% if passed prior to 1991. A concession of 5% of marks shall be given for SC/ST candidates passed after 1991.

Sl.No. 9 to 13, 15 & 16 offered in English Medium only.

Eligibility: Sl.No. 1 to 3 – Any Degree with Certificate in relevant subject. Sl.No. 13 – A pass in Higher Secondary / Equivalent Examination. Sl.No. 4 to 12 and 14 to 16 – Any Degree. Students undergoing a Postgraduate Course of study can also do any one of the above Diploma courses simultaneously.

One Year Courses

Certificate in Sanskrit, French; German, Computer Applications; - Any Degree

Six Month Courses: E-Commerce. (English Medium) Certificate in Spoken Tamil; Written Tamil; Medicinal Plants; Plant Cell and Tissue Culture; Phytochemical Tehcniques. (English Medium) Police Administration (English & Tamil Medium)

Three Month Course: Certificate in Library and information Science (English & Tamil Medium)

A pass in Higher Secondary / Equivalent Examination.

Students undergoing a Degree Course of study can also do any one of the Certificate Courses simultaneously.

Procedure for obtaining the prospectus and the application form

Prospectus and Application Form are issued separately for 1) Undergraduate Courses 2) Postgraduate & MPhil Courses 3) Professional Courses 4) Post Graduate Science, Certificate & Diploma Courses.

In Person: Rs. 100/- in cash at the Institute (IDE) / Study Centres / Spot Admission Centres.

By Post: Rs. 150/- by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “The Director, Institute of Distance Education, University of Madras” payable at Chennai.
