About the Course

Civil Engineering is an art of directing the great sources of Power in Nature for the use and convenience of the man. The primary needs of mankinds like houses, bungalows, flates, huts etc. is provided by Civil Engineers. The history of development of housing facilities reveals that man has been moulding his environment throughout the ages, for more confortable living. The efficient planning, designing, construction and maintenance of water supply, irrigation system, transportation engineering are fruits of Civil Engineer's work.

Eligibility

To get admission the applicants should write a separate Entrance Test conducted by Avinashilingam Deemed University / State Level Common Entrance Examination (CEE) / All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE).

Candidates should have passed in Higher Secondary Examination (Academic / Vocational Stream) and obtained a minimum aggregate percentage of marks as indicated below

Course Duration

4 years (8 semesters)

Criteria - OC - SC/ST

H.S.C - Academic Stream - (Maths +Physics +Chemistry) - 50% - A pass
H.S.C. - Vocational Stream - (Maths +Theory +Practical) - 50% - A pass

Age limit

Only candidate whose date of birth falls on or after 10-10-1981 is eligible.
For SC/ST and Physically handicapped candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

SC/ST candidates are given 50% fee concession in the tuition fees

Bachelor of Engineering (BE) - Lateral Entry

Candidates should have passed the Diploma Courses in relevant branches and obtained a minimum aggregate percentage of marks in pre-final and final semesters as given below

Criteria - OC - SC/ST

Aggregate - (Pre-final + Final Semesters) - 60% - A pass

Only candidates should have completed the age of 24 years as on 1st july of current year
