The students are practically trained in Printing machines Lab with Offset machines, Camera Lab with a Vertical Camera, DTP Lab with PCs and Mac Systems, Color Separation lab with a Dual scanner, Quality control Lab with quality control equipment, Plate making Lab with a Printing down frame and Packaging Lab. The students are also exposed to various fields such as Microprocessors, C-Programming, Electrical Machines & Electronics.

The students are taken on industrial visits to enrich their knowledge about the printing industry.

The students undergo training in the various sectors of printing field during their vacation. Seminars are conducted on latest trends. The students take part in intercollegiate functions, and are exposed to the latest exhibits of printing. A printing engineer can get accommodated in any field as she is moulded with knowledge in various fields. They have bright opportunities in Advertising industries, Packaging industries, Publishing houses, Government sectors, Paper mills, Ink industries, Web publishing, Multimedia.

Eligibility

To get admission the applicants should write a separate Entrance Test conducted by Avinashilingam Deemed University / State Level Common Entrance Examination (CEE) / All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE).

Candidates should have passed in Higher Secondary Examination (Academic / Vocational Stream) and obtained a minimum aggregate percentage of marks as indicated below

Criteria - OC - SC/ST

H.S.C - Academic Stream - (Maths +Physics +Chemistry) - 50% - A pass
H.S.C. - Vocational Stream - (Maths +Theory +Practical) - 50% - A pass

Age limit

Only candidate whose date of birth falls on or after 10-10-1981 is eligible.
For SC/ST and Physically handicapped candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

SC/ST candidates are given 50% fee concession in the tuition fees

Candidates should have passed the Diploma Courses in relevant branches and obtained a minimum aggregate percentage of marks in pre-final and final semesters as given below

Criteria - OC - SC/ST

Aggregate - (Pre-final + Final Semesters) - 60% - A pass
