About the course

Students form streams of B.Sc. (Biology) and B.Sc. (Mathematics), both ZBC and PCM groups are eligible to take admission after qualifying the entrance examination. However, some remedial courses will be given in agriculture to these students to facilitate their understanding in relevant fields of agriculture. The degree awarded will be M.Sc. (Ag.). The major thrust areas of teaching and research are on tissue culture / hybridoma technology / recombinant DNA technology / Cellular differentiation, signal transduction pathways in relation to host-parasite / genetic and molecular biology of biotic and abiotic stresses, plant transgenics for value addtion like fungal resistance, edible vaccine and nutritional quality, immunodiagnostics and vaccine production / embryo transfer technology.
