Applications on prescribed form are invited for admission to the following courses of the University for the academic session 2006-2007.
VIDYA-BHAVANA (INSTITUTE OF HUMANITIES & SOCIAL SCIENCES)
1. Two year M.A. Courses in Sanskrit; Bengali; English; Hindi; Oriya; Indo-Tibetan Studies; Chinese; Philosophy; Comparative Religion; Economics; History; Persian; Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology; Geography; Japanese; Mathematics; Journalism & Mass Communication.
2. Two year M.A. Course in Functional Hindi (Translation).

SANGIT-BHAVANA (INSTITUTE OF MUSIC, DANCE & DRAMA)
1. Two year M.Mus. Courses in Rabindra Sangit; Hindusthani Classical Music (Vocal); Hindusthani Classical Music :Instrumental (Sitar/ Esraj /Tabla / Pakhawaj); Kathakali and Manipuri Dance.

1. Two year M.Fine Arts (MFA)/ Advanced Diploma Courses in Painting; Mural; Sculpture; Graphic Art (Print Making); Design (Textile); Design (Ceramics); History of Art.
2. Four year B.Fine Arts (Honours) (B.F.A)/ Diploma Courses in Painting; Sculpture; Graphic Art (Print Making); Design (Textile); Design (Ceramics); History of Art.
3. Two year Certificate Course in Design.
4. Bridge Course (leading to M.F.A.) in Art History Course (three year [one year Bridge course + two year regular course]) for students from other than Fine Arts discipline.
5. One Year Casual Course for Indian Nationals in Painting / Sculpture / Graphic Art / Design (Textile / Ceramic) / History of Art.

1. Two year M.Sc.(Ag.) Courses in Agronomy; Plant Protection; Agricultural Extension; Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry and Horticulture.

PALLI SAMGATHANA VIBHAGA (INSTITUTE OF RURAL RECONSTRUCTION)
1. Two year M.A. / M.Sc. Course in Anthropology

4. Three year B.S.W. (Honours) Course
5. Three Year Diploma courses in (i) Textile Technology (Handloom), (ii) Furniture Technology and Interior Design, (iii) Pottery and Ceramic Technology.
6. Two year certificate courses in (i) Hand-made paper making; (ii) Artistic Leather Craft; (iii) Batik Work (iv) Book Binding & Hand made packaging.
VINAYA-BHAVANA ( INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION )
1. Two year Master of Physical Education (M.P.E.) Course
2. Two year M.A. in Education
3. Three year B.A. / B.Sc. (Honours.) in Physical Education.
UTTAR SIKSHA SADANA (INSTITUTE OF HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION )
Two year Pre-Degree (10+2) course in Humanities and Science Stream.
Eligibility criteria : Details of each course, are available in the Admission Brochure supplied with the application form or in the office of the respective Institute and in the University website.
Reservation of seats : In each course, admission of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Physically handicapped candidates will be governed as per rules of the Government of India.
How to apply : (i) Prescribed Application forms may be obtained in person from the under-mentioned designated branches of the 'United Bank of India'(UBI) on payment of Rs.200/- [Rs.100/- for internal candidates (current year)];
Designated UBI branches for issue of Application Forms are:

(ii) By Post: Application Form can also be obtained from the office of the Deputy Registrar (Academic & Research), Visva-Bharati on payment of Rs.200/- by a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan' and payable at 'State Bank of India, Santiniketan Branch (Code 2121)' along with a self-addressed envelope (37 cm. X 27 cm) affixed with postage stamps worth Rs.40/- only. The Application Form, details of the courses, eligibility criteria and relevant information may also be available in the website: www.visva-bharati.ac.in . In that case, the application form duly completed along with crossed Demand Draft of Rs.200/- and necessary documents may be sent to the Principal of the institute concerned. However, an application in the University's prescribed form shall have to be submitted to the authority, if asked for. Application Form completed in all respects should reach the Principal of the Institute concerned within June16, 2006.
Candidates willing to apply for more than one course / stream should apply separately. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. Rights of cancellation or selection/admission lie with the Admission Committee of the Institute concerned. The University reserves the right to limit the number of eligible applicants to be called for admission test.
Cash Coupon/Application Form will be issued from : May 12, 2006 to June 16,2006

N.B.: Visva-Bharati remains closed on Tuesdays afternoon and Wednesdays (Weekly Holiday).
